Branding Your Content (Downloads)

It never ceases to amaze me the top notch organizations ranging from retailers and brands, to consulting firms, to Non-profit organizations all sharing something of value and they forget at the last step – the download file name to include their organization/brand name. I end up typing these in when I download as their file name means little to me compared to the organization name and date of the content.
I recently reached out to one prominent Wall Street Analyst on her practice this way and got a “Wow, You’re right!” and immediate change in practice on their website.
This should be a no brainer but in the hand off to the web content folks may be getting forgotten. That is a mistake.
